Destination guide

Snipes Point Sandbar

Snipes Point Sandbar

The famous one. Expansive white sand, calm shallows, and the iconic tree swing that fills camera rolls all season. Snipes Point is the postcard of the Lower Keys backcountry and the destination most guests ask for by name.

Snipes Point sits about 10 miles northwest of Key West in the backcountry shallows, reachable only by boat. Weekends bring a friendly raft-up scene; weekdays it can feel private. The sand is firm underfoot, the water is usually two to four feet at the bar, and the famous tree swing is on the western edge. Our 4 and 6 hour sandbar charters give you real time here; conditions permitting, we anchor within wading distance.

Trips That Visit Snipes Point Sandbar

The day's destination is always weather and tide dependent, and your captain picks the best water. Charters depart Geiger Key Marina with pickup at Hogfish available.
